Sandy immortelle (Helichrysum arenarium)

Helichrysum, also known as sandy everlasting, is an aromatic medicinal plant with a characteristically rich, slightly bitter steppe scent. Its aroma unfolds beautifully in hot steam, creating a pleasant atmosphere and providing a gentle, relaxing effect.

Helichrysum inflorescences are rich in essential oils, flavonoids, glycosides, organic and fatty acids, vitamins C and K, as well as minerals.

helps purify the air in the steam room;

eases breathing and helps relieve nasal congestion;

soothes the skin, helping with irritation and breakouts;

promotes relaxation and soothes the nervous system.

How to Use in the sauna:
Helichrysum can be added to birch or oak bath brooms (veniks) or used on its own as part of a herbal bouquet. Dried flowers can also be infused to aromatize the steam room, pour onto hot sauna stones, or use as a body rinse.

How to Prepare the Infusion:
Pour 1 liter of boiling water over 2–3 tablespoons of dried flowers, cover, and let steep for 20–30 minutes. Strain the ready infusion. Pour onto the hot stones in small portions, diluting with water beforehand if necessary.

Contraindications: Helichrysum is not recommended during pregnancy, for individuals with hypertension, or in cases of individual intolerance. Use with caution if prone to allergies: the high concentration of essential oils and rich aroma may trigger an allergic reaction
